Cooley Dickinson Adopts MedVentive Solution to Manage Risk Contracts

Cooley Dickinson Adopts MedVentive Solution to Manage Risk Contracts

Waltham, MA (PRWEB) January 24, 2012

Cooley Dickinson Physician Hospital Organization (CDPHO), the preferred managed care undertaking entity for all major health plans within Hampshire County, Massachusetts, has subscribed a three-year agreement to license MedVentive Risk Manager. With MedVentive’s suite of clinician-friendly, nonrational, web-based tools and technology, Cooley Dickinson will be capable to better prosecute physicians and attain population-broad breakthroughs in quality and cost improvement.

Cooley Dickinson chose MedVentive in order to manage a new Alternative Quality Contract (AQC) with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. The hospital had previously managed several adventured-based pay-for-performance (P4P) agreements in-house, but recognized that the AQC would require far more expertise and a more robust solution to be cost-effective. Hospital officials identified the MedVentive platform as the best solution in the industry.

“As we moved forward with our first global payment model, we needed a robust software system that could drive improvements in care quality and efficiency, in order to improve outcomes and ultimately reduce the cost of care,” said Norm Stachelek, Cooley Dickinson’s president and executive director. “We looked at several solutions, some of which involved custom applications and some of which came pre-defined, but MedVentive offered the best of both worlds. The MedVentive platform seemed battle-tested and steeped in real-world experience. The fact that MedVentive spent so much time developing this at the physician level spoke volumes.”

Developed under the principle that you cannot manage what you cannot measure, MedVentive Risk Manager is designed to analyze and improve the entire spectrum of cost and quality challenges – resource utilization, generic prescribing, physician efficiency and patient profiling, and more. MedVentive Risk Manager will provide a single clarifying view that will allow Cooley Dickinson to manage variations in care across its entire enterprise.

Cooley Dickinson will be using the MedVentive platform to manage healthcare for more than 25,000 patients. “We’re very pleased to assist Cooley Dickinson in implementing higher quality and more cost-effective healthcare,” commented Nancy Brown, chief growth officer for MedVentive. “Our experience as an at-risk provider network gives us a deep understanding of provider organizations and the changing healthcare environment. MedVentive is uniquely qualified to provide the risk management infrastructure necessary to be successful under Cooley Dickinson’s new contract model.”

About Cooley Dickinson

CDPHO is the preferred managed care contracted entity for all major health plans within Hampshire County, Massachusetts. The CDPHO is structured to provide a forum for participating providers to cooperating in the delivery of high quality, cost-efficacious health care to the community in an organized fashion. CDPHO offers efficiency in managed care contracting to its 300 participating physicians and Cooley Dickinson Hospital – a 140-bed acute care hospital that provides patient-centered healthcare services both at its main campus in Northampton, Massachusetts, and at satellite facilities in Amherst, Easthampton, Florence, Hadley, South Deerfield and Worthington.

About MedVentive

While healthcare was evolving the concept of an accountable care organization, MedVentive was busy operating as one. MedVentive was founded as the Provider Service Network (PSN) in 1997 by the CareGroup Healthcare System, an integrated, at-risk network of 4,500 physicians and eight hospitals that cared for more than 450,000 at-risk patients. The network included the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching facility of Harvard Medical School.

Our origins as an ACO give MedVentive a deep understanding of provider organizations and the healthcare environment. Having been an at-risk provider network, MedVentive is uniquely qualified to support an organization’s transition from a fee-for-service payment environment to risk-based contracting, and provide the clinical integration/population management infrastructure necessary to be successful under this new model.

AlwaysOnPC Delivers Mobile Web Conference Hosting, Full Zoho and Office 365 Doc Editing on iOS and Android

AlwaysOnPC Delivers Mobile Web Conference Hosting, Full Zoho and Office 365 Doc Editing on iOS and Android

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) December 05, 2011

Xform Computing, Inc. announces a giant leap forward in mobile productivity by enabling mobile access to Cloud-based productivity and business websites, and web conferencing: The latest release of Xform’s AlwaysOnPC® App has completed testing that demonstrates excellent mobile compatibility with the top online productivity websites, bringing users rich functionality of these services on iOS and Android devices.

A growing number of Cloud-based services have built their offerings on Flash, Java script or applets, Silverlight, and even many HTML5 features which don’t work correctly on the native iPad or Android Browsers. Thus, only a subset of the functionality of these sites is available on mobile devices. Examples include Zoho®, Microsoft’s Office 365®, Quickbooks Online, Google® Apps, and many more. The AlwaysOnPC Mobile App bridges this gap.

AlwaysOnPC gives users access to a complete virtual computer directly from their iPad or Android device, liberating them to use these powerful services. For example, using Chrome inside AlwaysOnPC users can perform tasks in Zoho, Office 365, or Google Docs that are often difficult or impossible on mobile apps and browsers: Create, upload or import documents and presentations from online storage or other web repositories; Use full editing features, including the ability to create, re-touch, insert and re-size images, graphics, tables and charts into documents or Powerpoint slides; Even copy and paste this rich content between apps, just like on a computer.

AlwaysOnPC also enables mobile collaboration: The Zoho Meeting web conferencing/screen-sharing solution relies on Flash and Java-applets and does not work on native mobile browsers. However with AlwaysOnPC, users can initiate and host Zoho Meetings from iPad, iPhone, or Android with participants on any device or computer. They can share their AlwaysOnPC screen to conduct presentations, demonstrations, webinars and more, and even delegate presenter controls to participants.

Similar mobile compatibility challenges face Office 365, Quickbooks Online, and even Google Apps such as Sites or Docs editing (especially Powerpoint presentations) which rely on desktop browser technology. In addition to unlocking the full productivity promise of these cloud-based services on mobile devices, AlwaysOnPC also includes the OpenOffice suite, Gimp image editor, InkScape illustration program and Dropbox access.

Touchpoint Safety Announces Marketing Opportunity With Medipendant? Medical Emergency Alert System

Touchpoint Safety Announces Marketing Opportunity With Medipendant™ Medical Emergency Alert System

MediPendant™ Medical Emergency Alert

Greenville, SC (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

TouchPoint Safety, LLC, the premier distributor of MediPendant™ the most advanced medical alert device designed for seniors, is offering medical professionals and others in the business of healthcare the opportunity to become resellers, and incorporate the MediPendant senior alert system into their business or practice to expand the availability and use of this advanced elderly alarm system.

MediPendant is a portable, water-resistant device that can be worn as a necklace or clipped to a belt or pants. It is an ideal safety system that physicians, geriatricians, and providers of healthcare technology for seniors can offer their patients and /or customers. In the event that a senior who is wearing the MediPendant device falls and is immobile or is experiencing another emergency situation such as a fire or break-in, he/she can press a button on the device and communicate with a call center, EMT/EMS, or other emergency personnel via the MediPendant speak and listen technology. Appropriate emergency assistance can then be dispatched in the case of a critical situation http://www.touchpointsafety.com/video/.

What are the advantages of becoming a MediPendant reseller? For starters it’s easy to do and provides the potential for significant return. MediPendant resellers can earn $ 30-$ 500 per plan sold, depending on the type and length of the plan. TouchPoint provides free marketing collateral materials including banner ads, customized product displays, brochures and other valuable sales tools. In addition, resellers have the benefit of a web portal designed just for them that provides information on servicing, technical issues, and key facts about MediPendant resellers.touchpointsafety.com. With the aging of our population, resellers can be assured that senior alert systems will continue as a major growth industry. For more information on becoming a MediPendant reseller, visit http://resellers.touchpointsafety.com/.

For resellers, TouchPoint Safety offers the following additional services:

No inventory to carry – TouchPoint drop ships all orders with free shipping     All maintenance support and billing services are provided directly to the end user      No reseller interaction is required     All commissions are paid on a monthly basis     Live customer support 24/7     Professional sales support available when needed

MediPendant demo kits are available for $ 150, which is refunded after the resellers first 20 sales. The kit includes a complete MediPendant system with a fighting test account to the central station and a counter display literature holder with 100 MediPendant brochures.

“It’s important for seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible,” says Dave Martinez, director of customer advocacy at TouchPoint Safety. “MediPendant can help seniors do this because it provides an effective safety alert mechanism that is affordable and simple. TouchPoint is proud to offer this reseller opportunity for healthcare professionals and others who work with seniors so that they can provide this important, elderly alarm technology for their own patients and clients.”

MediPendant is distinct from similar technologies because it has a wider functional range of 600 feet in or around the home. The system also has 3-way conferencing that enables EMT/EMS personnel to interact with the immobile person’s family or guardian and a text messaging feature so that family members or guardians can be updated on the immobile person’s status. Because the MediPendant allows direct communication to emergency professionals there is less chance for mistaken notifications of emergency personnel.

TouchPoint Safety, a Delaware-based LLC was founded by three corporate executives with 50 years combined experience in national distribution, Internet marketing, and security and safety products and services. The company’s key principals realized the astonishing rate at which the personal emergency response system (PERS) industry is growing to provide elderly help and decided to make a sizable investment into medical alert services while the industry was still in its early stages.
